This year’s International Coworking Day happened to fall on a weekend, but that doesn’t mean we didn’t take a moment as a team to look at how shared workspaces have reshaped the way we build software, foster community, and scale teams here in Waterloo Region.
Coworking hubs have become an integral part of our innovation ecosystem, offering more than desks and Wi-Fi. They’re places that foster community, connection, and those serendipitous moments that spark the next great idea.

BitBakery’s workspace journey
Our workspace story has evolved from a heads-down private HQ that offered focus but little outside interaction, to co-locating with partners, before finally landing at Communitech, a purpose-built community of founders, mentors and industry experts in the heart of Downtown Kitchener.
Each stage taught us something new, but coworking has proven the best match for our hybrid model and growth ambitions.
